“We’re committed to our customers not only to brew the best quality beers we can, but to take leadership in addressing our climate challenges, too.  Going solar was a natural step. We chose SunCommon as our solar partner because we wanted to work with a company who is invested in our community, and who shares our BCorp values. It has been an absolute pleasure working with them.”

—Jen Kimmich, Founder of The Alchemist Brewery

How to save up to 50% on commercial solar.

Commercial solar systems can draw on several sources for savings: the federal tax credit, federal accelerated depreciation, and individual state incentives. These discounts can translate to recouping nearly half of the cost of your system in the first year of install, and recovering the entire cost within five years. That means decades of free electricity and energy independence.

We’re NYSERDA Quality Installers

Our installation team was recently awarded with the 2020 NYSERDA Quality Solar Installer Award. Hiring a NYSERDA Quality Solar Installer means you’re choosing an installer who exceeds annual quality assurance criteria backed by NYS and consistently provides top tier performance and quality.

Safe Harbor Your Solar Tax Credit Savings

Federal and state income tax incentives are currently 26% and 6.2% of project costs. For projects that are placed in service after December 31, 2020, those incentives drop to 22% and 5.3%. Depending on permitting and project timelines, if you choose to sign an agreement and place a deposit soon we can either install or begin installing the project in 2020 to secure the higher incentives or “Safe Harbor” a portion of the project equipment this year. That means that even if we install your project in 2021, you can get the higher 2020 tax incentive rates.

We’ve helped over 200 businesses across New York and Vermont go solar.

With SunCommon, an experienced professional will support you in every step, so you spend less time on your solar project, and more time running your business.

This made the most financial sense, a combination of pricing from SunCommon and net metering from Green Mountain Power. We were able to take advantage of both federal and state tax credits.

Beer brewing and packaging uses a lot of energy. We’re always looking for ways to reduce our environmental impact and solar was a perfect fit. We can run our machinery on the sun – why not? To celebrate going solar we’re brewing up a delicious Sun Rocked IPA with nice tropical fruit, berries and citrus flavors - everything that summer sunshine represents.
